Boudicca was name after a female queen of ancient britain who led a revolt against the roman army two thousand years ago, this is where the brands a name originated from, representing strong female form, of power class and capability and modern figure, the concept behind the brand was being mythical for a world full of imagination

Boudiccas breakthrough collection took place three years ago in an old run down building in london.

I found the guest lecture really inspiring and humble, it was nice to see someone so focused and driven with not that much of a successful background behind them, A really creative brand who needs a breakthrough into industy, was hard listening to her ambitions when she was openly telling us about money troubles ect, Boudicca brought out a unusual perfume what sprayed out a colour toy our skin, this was something i had never seen before ever! and it just goes to show how much of a creative brand boudicca are.

The Eiffel Tower, this image was obviously taken at the night  time we had some in the day where i went right to the top of the tower and looked out over the city, the weather was perfect for it too.

One of our favour sins when we was in paris, i reckon we had two of these a day, Nutella crepes with bananas, I’ve actually bought a crepe machine to make my own, doubt they would be anything like the original but still delicious!

Tatrice chauve french writer and below Street grafitti art, what looks to be maids and police men looking out of the street, i thought this was an interesting image it seems as thought there looking out on the street to see who’s looking in on them. I don’t know who the grafitti artist is but it seem to be the same style as the kate moss image so am gathering its the same person. Very talented whoever it is.

One of paris’ delicasies Snails… which i enjoyed, garnished with garlic. i had eaten these after our trip to the eitful tower, I’ve never had them before am always open minded to try something new.

Real fur fabrics swatches in the back streets of paris, there was a wide range of fabrics including fur, swede and leather. We tried to haggle the assistant down to a reasonable price as they were too expensive to buy, we did purchase a few but cut them up between us so we had more of a choice.
I would defiantly visit paris again for fabrics, maybe for my final year collection, i felt there was a wide range to choose from, not just the obvious, boring fabrics what you see in shephardsbush, there was something exciting about these shops, You wouldn’t see real fur or suede just hanging round in A1 fabrics, Now i no why paris is known for distributing luxury fabrics to high end designers.

The inspiration for Vexed Generation came from direct experience of London’s air pollution leves. research on civil liberties that led to the discovery that £200 million was spent on surveillance cameras to watch over some of London’s poorest boroughs. Instead of succumbing to apathy, Joe Hunter and Adam Thorpe the co-ordinators of this retail-gallery-public-access space chose to communicate their concerns through the production of clothes sold in a controlled context. The fashion industry itself certainly holds no allure for Hunter and Thorpe, and selling clothes is just part of a broader intention to encourage links between like-minded people, artists and musicians who want to pool resources and use the space. There is already a growing library of slide and video contributions from over 20 artists on view.

Vexed Generation aren’t instantly attractive. Hunter and Thorpe’s limited collection of tough street-wear incorporates traditional hard-wearing fabrics, like denim, with the latest synthetic fibres, to create state-of-the-art work-wear that is stylish enough to appeal to fashion-conscious youth. (Demand far outstrips production even though the clothes are intended to make the wearer conscious of the harshness of the urban environment.

Yes i know it was cheeky of me too be getting off a train from paris and then to a plane to New York in the matter of a day, but i got the oppourtunity to Visit New York by UEL, i got accepted for a bursary which granted me paid flights and accommadation for a weeks stay in broardway. What we had to do when we returned was to write a 500 word essay on what we achieved when we were there and give a valid reason why we needed to visit this city, We had a really good one OBVIOUSLY! it included visits to the fashion institue of technology, New York Fashion week and i visit one of the biggest fabric warehouses in New York, BJ fabrics i no thats what i thought, why would you call a fabric warehouse ‘BJ fabrics’ found it amusing anyway oh and threw a few cocktails in on top of all that – of course. The people who works at the ware house was really kind enough to give us 15 free samples of our chosen fabrics, they helped us organise the name and types in to order so we knew what we was talking about when we cane to write about them, i thought that was really helpful. We spent 5 hours in there just walking round because it was like aladdin’s Cave but with mound and mounds of fabrics, all hung properly and organised beauitfuly, so you didn’t get lost on what you wanted, just strole up and down the isles choosing what you liked, i don’t think I’ve ever seen such a place, it was brilliant.

What was the 80’s all about? well the year i was born so i couldn’t remeber what went on at that time personally, but from research in to the culture and fashion sense it was all about shoulders, big hair, the le pest c was very demanding  with with the trickle down effect economics, this was stated due to the excess of the 80s with the stock market crash in 1987 – this coincided with christian lacroixs New York opening, A journalist declare christphoer laxcroic divide to the luxury high end market declaring this is where his market would be lying from now on expensive, gorgeous extravagant clothes only made for the super rich.

Maggie thatcher was in power and people didn’t take well to this as she increased interest rates with slowed the growth on money supply and inflation, also 1989 was the year of the Hillsborough Disaster, where 96 people lost their lives due to a football match liverpool and shefield wednesday, My dad attended this match I’ve  put in a cut out  from the news paper of that time which shows my dad and his friends rescuing fans from the lower tier to the top, from what I’ve been told the events of this day was a disaster and i know my dad lost friends here, i think he was so lucky to have changed his mind this day and go to swap tickets with another fan and got to the top stand instend of the lower stand.

There has been 20 years of contrversy about what happened and a particular news paper a journalist wrote horrific stories about liverpool fans pissing on there own and also robbing the dead, the police was involved in a corrupt scandal, they were told to change the statements and say that what occurred on that day never did. They say now it was all boiled down to was in power at the time which was maggie thatcher she hated scousers called them the lowest of minority – so i think thats why every person in liverpool carnt wait till she drops dead.
